2017 Tour de Yorkshire

2017 Tour de Yorkshire

Stage 3 was the Queen stage from Bradford to Sheffield.

Shibden Wall seemed the obvious place to spectate - for me 29 years since I visited when the Kelloggs Tour of Britain climbed up the pavement!

This time the crowds were more substantial and so the riders would have to endure the cobbles.

A generous crowd cheered every rider that made the ascent - especially the young uns!

"Alright you can let go!" Not easy making a restart on the cobbles.

Prize for the biggest bag carried up the climb went to this young rider.

Dexter Gardias BikeChannelCanyon was one of the leading riders to reach the wall first.

Matthew Hayman, Orica-Scott, proves that big guys can climb as well.

Team Dimension Data head the peloton up the climb - working to a plan?

Joey Wack on national duty today for Great Britain, Team Wiggins can be proud of him.

The peloton stayed together on the climb and used the full width of the road.

Go on Fraser!

Taylor Gunman, Madison Genesis, I still think he's smiling - and why not!

As sporting spectacles go it doesn't get any better, where can you go and watch world class atheletes for free. The crowd was amazing and well behaved displaying respect for all the participants. Once the race had passed everyone dispersed with the minimum of fuss aided by the Police and security team. Yorkshire you did us proud!
